The Tongzhou district of Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – issued a three-year plan for the digital transformation of its resident enterprises at the start of the year.

The plan aims to significantly improve the performance of its manufacturing sector, help a raft of enterprises to grow as models for digital transformation and build model parks for intelligent manufacturing in the following three years.

This year, plans are for Tongzhou to provide diagnostic services for the digital transformation of 225 enterprises and to complete 260 such projects.

To date, Tongzhou has witnessed progress in the digital transformation of its overall manufacturing sector.

One example is Jiangsu Hengke Advanced Materials Co Ltd, which has carried out an overall smart reconstruction of its plant. Through integration and interconnections between intelligent equipment and its networks, it has realized centralized management and control over the entire production process and achieved maximum efficiency in raw materials, facilities and labor.

Recently, Hengke's plant was recognized as a provincial model factory for intelligent manufacturing.
