Haimen's service outsourcing industry thrives
Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, attracted 13 service outsourcing projects in the first six months, completing 86.7 percent of its annual target, local media reported on July 20.
The service outsourcing industry is an important part of the modern high-end service industry and also the key industry in the adjustment of the district's industrial structure.
From January to May, the district's actual service outsourcing value was $113.04 million, a year-on-year increase of 100.26 percent, of which the onshore value totaled $31.97 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.14 percent, and the offshore value was $81.07 million, a year-on-year increase of 162.36 percent.
Linjiang New Area plays an important role in the district's development of its service outsourcing industry. It is currently home to more than 200 bio-medicine-oriented scientific innovation projects, a large number of which are service outsourcing projects.
Among the service outsourcing enterprises declared in the district this year, nine were from Linjiang New Area, accounting for 42 percent of the total, and all of them were biomedical service outsourcing projects.
