In recent years, the Tongzhou district of Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – has improved the level of mechanization in the whole process of grain production and smart agricultural machinery has helped create large-scale, intensive and efficient agricultural production.
"From plowing, sowing, plant protection to harvesting, all these steps are operated by unmanned machinery, which reduces labor intensity," said Shuai Bin, Party branch secretary of Jiangyi village in Tongzhou.
The large-scale application of smart agricultural machinery makes production easy and efficient. This year, more than 10,000 machines went into use in Tongzhou, including a number of unmanned rice transplanters and plant protection machines.
These machines are widely used in sowing, plant protection, fertilization, harvesting and in other areas, which greatly saves labor costs, improves the production scale and efficiency of companies and contributes to the upgrading of the agricultural sector.
To date this year, Tongzhou owns more than 300 sets of intelligent machines and three farms featuring the use of unmanned agricultural machinery have been built, basically realizing the whole process of unmanned ploughing, sowing, plant protection and harvesting.
