Haimen to build low-carbon smart energy park
Construction on the first low-carbon smart energy park in Jiangsu province will start in Haimen, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, local media reported on June 16.
Construction will be carried out in two phases with a total investment of 500 million yuan ($74.65 million). The first phase is planned for completion by the end of 2022, while the second phase is planned for completion by 2025. Once completed, it is expected to save more than 0.2 yuan per kWh of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 27,000 metric tons per year.
The construction project includes a distributed photovoltaic power station with a total installed capacity of 25 megawatts, a charging (replacement) power station with a total installed capacity of 40 mW, a smart energy visualization platform and a maintenance center.
In addition, the park will operate public and special charging piles and provide electric vehicle rental services to promote low-carbon energy consumption.
Meanwhile, distribution grid and power distribution points in the district will be optimized to promote clean energy supply.
