Jiangsu Haili Wind Power Equipment technology Co Ltd is a leading domestic wind power equipment components manufacturer which is located in Rudong county, administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province.
Recently companies in the wind power sector have been impacted by a number of factors. These include the State-set price of electricity connected to the grid, transport difficulties for raw materials and new equipment, the slower construction process for offshore wind power plants, plus the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
"Crisis and opportunity co-exist. Instead of waiting passively, we took the initiative to seize the opportunity to develop pelagic wind power plants," said Xu Shijun, chairman of Haili Wind Power.
Pelagic wind power is said to combine state-of-the-art offshore wind turbines and an innovative, robust wave energy conversion technology on a single, lightweight floating platform. It is seen as opening a new market in the renewable energy business.
Offshore wind power equipment companies have entered a trough since a plant installation rush ended last year. Through sci-tech innovation, Haili Wind Power steadily promoted the large-scale production of offshore wind turbine towers, jackets and single pile foundations.
Starting in May, it has successively received numerous orders from areas outside Jiangsu.
To weather the storm, it's a battle not only for the company but also for local government. Chen Huiyu, Party secretary of Rudong, took charge of helping Haili Wind Power solve the problems existing in its development process.
To ensure 60,000 metric tons of steel plates that Haili needed for production would be smoothly transported from Zhangjiagang in Suzhou to the company, Rudong county immediately opened a fast-track channel to ensure supply.
