Nantong receives 323,000 tourists during Duanwu Festival holiday

The 51 tourist attractions in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, received 323,000 tourists and generated 132 million yuan ($19.81 million) in revenue during the Dragon Boat Festival, which concluded on June 5.

Various tourist attractions in the city organized activities to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival.

For example, the Haohe River scenic area hosted dragon boat races for parents and children while hiking, silk flower making and traditional Chinese dance performances were available at the Langshan Mountain scenic area during the three-day festival.

The Nantong municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, and tourism also launched themed travel routes and travel cards, which allow holders to visit many scenic spots in Nantong for only 88 yuan ($13.2) ahead of the holiday to spur consumption.

In addition, all 15 key businesses in the city registered 230 million yuan ($34.5 million) in total sales revenue during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 7.4 percent.
