Changle town in Nantong is full of rivers with villages alongside them. A Ting, or shallow islet, themed village cluster has been established in the town as an example of a modern Chinese village.

Two years ago, Xu Qingfeng, general manager of Four Seasons Changle Enterprise Management Co Ltd, proposed integrating modern and trendy elements into primitive countryside scenery in Yisheng village.

Xu and his professional design team spent two years transforming the riverside village into a popular destination for young people.

Companies can send workers to spend a weekend in Tingcun village to enhance their relations while younger generations go there to barbecue, camp, and enjoy locally-grown farm produce and scenic countryside landscapes.

A three-storey building in the field is known as the "reception room of Tingcun". It functions not only as a service center for tourists but also an exhibition hall for Changle culture.

Xu said that they plan to set up an exhibition hall to showcase the special agricultural and cultural products of Changle and bring in homestays to offer better accommodation for young people.
