Haimen releases 2021 statistical bulletin
In 2021, the GDP of Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province reached 156.93 billion yuan ($24.69 billion), an increase of 9.4 percent over the previous year. The per capita GDP was 158,119 yuan, up 9.3 percent compared with the previous year.
The general public budget revenue totaled 7.9 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of 7.5 percent, of which tax revenue reached 6.50 billion yuan, a growth of 7.5 percent, accounting for 82.3 percent of the total.
The total grain output for 2021 was 251,800 metric tons, an increase of 100 tons over the previous year. The grain cultivation area was 52,820 hectares, a year-on-year increase of 70 hectares.
In 2021, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 50.64 billion yuan, an increase of 16.9 percent. Specifically, retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas reached 43.14 billion yuan, up 85.19 percent, while retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas reached 7.5 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8 percent.
In 2021, the district's imports and exports exceeded 32.24 billion yuan, up 36.4 percent over the previous year. Among them, the export value was 27.62 billion yuan, up 27.2 percent, while the import value totaled 4.61 billion yuan, up 27.8 percent.
The district received over 3.2 million tourists in 2021, including 2,660 international tourists. Total tourism income reached 2.98 billion yuan, with the foreign exchange income of tourism hitting $2.08 million.
