Youyu village in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has transferred 1,300 mu (86.67 hectares) of land to promote agricultural agglomeration and industrialization, generating an income of 1.3 million yuan ($204,059.11).

Since 2021, 250 mu of farmland in Youyu village has been used for rice-wheat rotation, and the harvest season will begin in mid-May this year.

Five greenhouse farmers in the village have contracted 250 mu of land to grow asparagus. The village has also planted 500 mu of green broad beans, 50 mu of shine-muscat grapes, and 800 mu of metasequoia.

Zhang Guoqiang, a resident of the village, has rented his 5 mu of land to the village to earn rent and then took the opportunity to seek outside employment.

Next, the village will make full use of its distinctive agricultural products and cultural tourism resources to further increase the village's income through a cooperative operation model between the village and enterprises.

In addition, the village will apply to build a new cooperative farm to transfer 300 mu of farmland to carry out rice-wheat rotation this year.
