Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province saw 16 of its public cultural spaces make it onto the list of the most beautiful public cultural spaces in the province, released recently by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
The Duntou Culture and Arts Center, located in Duntou town in the county-level city of Hai'an, administered by Nantong, was one of them.
With a floor space of 1,880 square meters, the center has four floors. It is equipped with 16 functional rooms for intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, reading, practicing calligraphy and painting, sports activities and other things. It is open all year round.
Moving forward, plans are for the culture and tourism bureau of Hai'an to take every opportunity to upgrade the hardware and software facilities of the cultural venues in the city.
It is felt that this will greatly improve the public cultural services, as Hai'an moves to provide a higher-quality cultural life for its citizens.
