The county-level city of Hai'an – administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – held a conference on Feb 19 with the theme of streamlining its business environment and it is currently understood to be acting on those deliberations.
At the event, a raft of 68 measures to optimize the investment environment were released. These were put together based on a combination of Hai'an's own current conditions and the 66 business environment improvement measures released by Nantong on Feb 8.
They focus on six areas: making it easier and more convenient to start a new business, making administrative approval services more efficient, providing more accurate services for project construction, providing more benefits for enterprises and individual businessmen, making market supervision more people-oriented and making rule of law services more standardized.
Twenty people from all walks of life were employed as the first group of business environment supervisors at the conference.
They will be tasked with observing and supervising the effects of the investment environment optimization.
