Agricultural products from Nanzheng district are in high demand in Rudong county of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province. Nanzheng lays under the jurisdiction of Hanzhong city in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
This demand is in the wake of a pairing-assistance collaboration that was struck in 2017 between the two regions in an effort to alleviate the county out of poverty through cooperation in industries, labor force, talent, and various other fields.
The Nanzheng agricultural products exhibition and sales center, situated on Youyi Road, is a platform created to boost poverty alleviation by the consumption products from Nanzheng.
Opened in July 2020, the sales center houses over 100 kinds of Hanzhong specialties on offer, most of which are premium agricultural and sideline products from Nanzheng district. Some products such as dried mushrooms, agarics, and day lilies are highly welcomed by customers.
"I have bought this dried mushroom before, it is great to make soup. So I come to buy more and get some for my relatives and friends as a gift as the Spring Festival approaches," said Ms Ma, a Rudong resident who visited the sales center to do her Spring Festival shopping.
The center has generated sales revenue of over 10 million yuan ($1.57 million) since its opening.
