Hai'an's Shanghu Innovation Zone promoted
A promotions event took place on Jan 24 for the Shanghu Innovation Zone located in Hai'an – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – to attract more investment there.
Located about 3 kilometers southeast of the Hai'an central urban area, the Shanghu Innovation Zone has a planned area of 9.8 square kilometers.
Starting in 2018, the zone has adhered to development driven by innovation, its opening-up and industry-city-people integration.
The infrastructure of the zone is continuing to improve and there's room for investment in the sci-tech sectors, culture, healthcare, tourism and in other areas.
Wang Chen, head of Hai'an's education and sports bureau, said at the event the bureau would consider such factors as the distribution of industries, the population size and public support services – as well as consider building more schools for compulsory education.
Wu Jinxiang, director of the Hai'an health commission, told the promotions event that three community health service stations would be built in the near future. Wu added that in the next three to five years, a public health service system led by Shanghu Hospital and supported by Xinsheng Hospital and community service stations would be formed.
Three projects signed up at the event to settle in the Shanghu Innovation Zone.
Tan Liang, chairman of Zhongke Blue Ocean Intelligent Vision Technology Co Ltd, said that the group would invest and build a laboratory focusing on intelligent vision technology research and development, which would help inject advanced know-how and more expertise into Hai'an's traditional industries.
