Haimen sees robust economic growth
The general public budget revenue of Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, reached 7.9 billion yuan ($1.24 billion) in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 7.5 percent, according to the Haimen finance bureau.
In 2021, the district's tax revenue accounted for 82.3 percent of the general public budget revenue.
In the past year, Haimen held more than 30 economic and trade investment fairs and various investment activities. Agreements for a total of 116 new projects were signed with a total investment of over 170 billion yuan, including 60 projects exceeding 1 billion yuan and four projects exceeding 10 billion yuan.
In terms of industrial economy, the taxable sales of industrial enterprises above designated size exceeded 100 billion yuan in 2021, and a number of enterprises that paid more than 100 billion yuan in taxes emerged, including Jiangsu Easpring Material Technology Co Ltd.
Total retail sales of consumer goods in the district reached 49.8 billion yuan, an increase of 15 percent, and the total value of imports and exports was 29 billion yuan, an increase of 14.4 percent. The total output value of the construction industry exceeded 230 billion yuan, and taxable sales of the service industry reached 65 billion yuan.
In addition, to ease financial pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises and promote the development of the real economy, the district issued 345 million yuan in loans in 2021, benefiting 58 companies.
