Hai'an Museum upgraded as national 4A-level scenic area

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the latest 10 national 4A-level scenic areas in the province on Dec 14. Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area and Hai'an Museum, located in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, were included.
Hai'an Museum scenic area is comprised of the museum's new venue and the former residence of Han Guojun (1857-1942), a patriot born in Hai'an and acting as governor of Jiangsu province for two terms, covering some 15,000 square meters in total.
The former residence of Han Guojun is a well-preserved and typical building complex in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) style. In 2013, it was included among the seventh group of major historical and cultural sites protected at the national level by the State Council.
In 1989, the former residence of Han Guojun was opened to the public as Hai'an County Museum after renovation and exhibition. In 2019, to better publicize the city's spirit, the Hai'an municipal government constructed a new museum on the east of the residence.
With Hai'an's local culture as the theme, the new museum has 1,505 pieces (sets) of collections of different periods and textures.
