The dragon dance originated from a folk legend in Hai'an and is usually performed during celebrations. The dance is performed by a group of women and one man who holds a ball to attract the dragon.
The gong and drum recital is a traditional performance that is usually performed at the Green Crop Gathering in the summer to pray for good weather after farmers plant rice.
Knot-dying in China started in the Qin (221-206 BC) and Han (206 BC-220 AD) dynasties and culminated in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). China-made knot-dying products and knot-dying techniques have been introduced to India, Indonesia, and Japan.
