Tongzhou holds innovation, entrepreneurship competition
The final of the sixth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Tongzhou – the district located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – was held at Jianghai Smart Park in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Nov 12.
Having been held five times before, the popular competition attracted the participation of nearly 100 projects from home and abroad. After qualification reviews and preliminary screenings, 15 startup teams were chosen to fight it out in the final. They were involved in the emerging fields of new energy, electronics information and intelligent manufacturing.
After the presentations, a project for unmanned street sweepers by Shanghai Yongli Information Technology Co Ltd won first prize. In addition to a bonus, the prize-winning projects get to settle in Tongzhou district, where they will also be granted subsidies.
According to Shi Xiaoyi, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Tongzhou district committee, the launch of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition has led to a group of outstanding teams with top-flight personnel and broad market prospects moving their operations to Tongzhou.
