Heya village in Rudong prospers through shrimp farming

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced on Nov 10 the 11th batch of 399 national "one village, one specialty" demonstration villages, the 2021 national lists of 174 towns with characteristic industries worth 1 billion yuan ($156.9 million) and 249 villages with characteristic industries worth 100 million yuan.
Heya village, located in the Wangjiatan reclamation area in northern Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was recognized as a national village with a characteristic industry worth 100 million yuan.
Covering an area of nearly 437 hectares, Heya village has around 30 ha of land for farming and 280 ha for penaeus vanname farming.
With a railway to the south and Yangkou Port to the east, Heya village enjoys an advantageous location. Under the leadership of the general Party branch, the village has continuously devoted efforts to developing its economy and improving its living environment.
