Shipbuilder Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd, or NACKS, signed a raft of procurement agreements worth $35 million at the fourth China International Import Expo, or CIIE, which is being held in East China's Shanghai city from Nov 5 to 10.

NACKS, based in the district of Chongchuan in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, inked deals during CIIE to be supplied by JFE Holdings, Daihatsu Motor and other companies with a range of technical equipment.

Dominated by the shipbuilding and marine engineering industries, Nantong has a national market share of 10 percent and 25 percent, respectively, in the two sectors.

NACKS, jointly founded by China COSCO Shipping Corporation Ltd and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd in 1995, is a leading firm in the shipbuilding sector of Nantong and the country. It has undertaken the key mission to promote the transformation and upgrading of the city's shipbuilding and marine engineering industries.

It was the fourth time that NACKS participated in the CIIE, the shipbuilder hitting a new high this year in the value of procurement orders.

It purchased products such as electric generators and radars, which will not only enhance its manufacturing capacity and competitiveness, but also further deepen cooperation with its partners and stabilize the supply chain in the post novel coronavirus epidemic era.
