French garment company ICCF Group signed an agreement in the French consulate in Shanghai on Nov 3 to set up a fashion textile project in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.
The move, which involves the establishment of silk products series and high-end garment raw materials projects in Haimen Port New Area, is part of ICCF's efforts to expand the group's business scale.
Shen Xudong, director of Haimen district, attended the signing ceremony and gave an overview on Haimen's economic and social development to the attendees, which included Laurent Bili, French ambassador to China, as well as Benoit Guidee, the French Consul General in Shanghai.
Shen said that high-end textiles are one of Haimen's signature industries, adding that the partnership with ICCF Group will provide fresh and strong momentum for boosting Haimen's home textiles industry.
Shen also stressed that the local government will work to create a stable, just, transparent, and promising business and living environment for investors in Haimen.
Ye Shouzeng, chairman of ICCF Group, explained the reason for choosing Haimen as the investment destination. He said that Haimen boasts a solid industrial foundation and international reputation for its booming home textiles industry.
Ye expressed hope that by setting up the project in Haimen, ICCF can carry forward and elevate the fine tradition of Nantong's textiles and dyeing, while also introducing advanced equipment and management experience to further enhance Nantong's fame as "the home of textiles".
