Hai'an GDP hits 66.32 billion yuan in H1

Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, registered a 13.6 percent growth in its gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of this year. The growth rate is the second highest in Nantong.
The GDP of Hai'an totaled 66.32 billion yuan ($10.24 billion) in H1, according to statistics announced on July 24 during a government meeting.
The general public budget revenue hit 4.04 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1 percent. Fixed asset investment and total retail sales of consumer goods rose by 13.6 percent and 28.8 percent, respectively. The per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural residents increased by 13.4 percent and 16.6 percent, respectively.
The January-June period witnessed 102 new industrial enterprises above designated size (those with an annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan). Six major projects were successfully signed. Work commenced on 21 major and mega projects, nine of which are valued at over 2 billion yuan. Forty-three major agricultural projects began construction, including 12 projects valued at over 100 million yuan.
There were 156 new industry-university-research cooperation projects. A total of six national-level talents, 78 high-level innovative talents, and five innovative and entrepreneurial teams were introduced as well.
During the first six months of this year, Hai'an created 6,000 new jobs, taught vocational skills to more than 10,000 people, and introduced nearly 7,000 educational degrees of various types.
