A new science and innovation park – under the jurisdiction of Hai'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone – opened its doors for business on July 24, as one of the first group of 20 projects that signed up to settle in the region.
Hai'an is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province.
With a planned core area of 100 mu (6.67 hectares), the park has 10 buildings for innovative research. These come equipped with multiple functions servicing industry research institutes, test centers, as well as commercialization centers for university and college scientific achievements.
The facility is reportedly committed to becoming the most dynamic gathering place for scientific and innovative talent in the Yangtze River Delta urban economic circle.
Yu Lizhong, Party secretary of Hai'an, told the opening ceremony that the park would boost industry-university-research integration and innovation, become a magnet for top-flight talent and evolve into a highland for sci-tech innovation with extensive regional influence and core competitiveness.
Tan Zhen, mayor of Hai'an, presided over the ceremony and during his keynote speech he said Hai'an would provide leading-edge services for the newly settled projects and create a prime business ecosystem for resident enterprises.
