As the temperature increases, Golden Beach scenic area in Qidong, Nantong has seen a surge in visits over the past weekend, with a total of 10,636 people entering the area by 5:37 pm on July 10, local media outlets reported.

The scenic area was closed for upgrading in November 2020 and reopened on July 1.

Located in the east of the Yuantuanjiao resort, Golden Beach boasts pleasant scenery, with lush plants, glistening waves, and vast wetland stretching over an area of more than 180 hectares. It was rated a Jiangsu provincial-level wetland park in 2017.

The beach has not served as a wonderland for tourists, but also for water birds. Museums for scientific education are also available in the area.

During this summer, a variety of activities will be held to entertain visitors, including flying huge kites, hot air balloons, picking clams, and food festivals.

To cope with the increasing number of visitors, the local administration has taken strict security, as well as COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention measures to ensure visitors' health and safety.
