Bencha town, located in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, is an ancient town with a history of 1,400 years. Since the power grid was renovated and upgraded, night tours around the town have become a highlight, especially the dazzling light show which adopts acousto-optic technologies.
On June 22, a visual feast of light and shadow was staged in Bencha town. It was the 48th show performed since May this year. To ensure the smooth operation of equipment, staff of the Bencha power supply administration under the Rudong branch of State Grid stood near the power distribution room in the scenic spot throughout the performance.
The power load of the scenic spot has risen sharply as an increasing number of tourists visit. To deal with the situation, the Rudong branch of State Grid organized a special working group and established a 24-hour service mechanism.
The group patrols during the daytime to immediately eliminate hidden dangers. At night, the team provides electricity guarantee services and responds to failures at all hours.
In addition, the working group also patrols the tourist center, the Minghai Stage, and Dadong Agency, as well as business shops in the scenic spot, to ensure electrical safety and stability.
"Staff from the power supply department will come as quickly as possible if there is any problem in the scenic spot, so I have no worries about power supply," said Li Kai, general manager of Bencha Ancient Town Culture and Tourism Development Co Ltd.
"It was them who rushed to help us handle issues related to electric power when the scenic spot was close to opening, so that our merchants could settle in with peace of mind, and the light and shadow show could be held on schedule," Li added.
