A major choir competition – the fifth Zijin Chorus Festival – ended on June 11 in the Jiangsu Center for the Performing Arts in Nanjing, capital city of East China's Jiangsu province.

A choir called the Chong Chuan Zhi Sheng (Sound of Chongchuan), representing Nantong, scored top marks among the silver prize winners of the Adult Group A.

The festival is the most authoritative and watched choir competition in Jiangsu. It has been held five times since 2013.

To celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the event was themed on "Ode to the Party" and showed the spirit of Jiangsu people in the new era under the leadership of the CPC through the choral art form.

Founded in September 2020, the choir Chong Chuan Zhi Sheng was launched – by the publicity department of the Chongchuan district Party committee, the district's education and sports bureau and the department of culture and tourism – to provide a platform for fans of choirs, as well as lovers of choral music and culture.
