Hai'an becomes imported meat distribution center in central Jiangsu
A new designated supervision site for imported meat in the Hai'an trade and logistics park – located in Hai'an, the county-level city in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – recently passed its inspection and acceptance by the General Administration of Customs, local media reported.
The facility, the first of its kind in central Jiangsu province, is expected to help with the transformation and upgrading of the local food industry and cold chain logistics sector in Hai'an.
The city applied to set up the first designated supervision site for imported meat in central Jiangsu in 2019, obtaining approval from the General Administration of Customs.
In 2020, the trade and logistics park renovated the original No 4 warehouse in the bonded logistics center.
It built and improved hardware facilities such as a dedicated inspection platform, cold storage lockers, administrative offices and areas for storing refrigerated containers.
The park also created an information-based management system and established systems for inspections and quarantine.
