On April 25, more than 20 veterans visited Aiguo village in Tianshenggang sub-district of Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province. Under the guidance of Jiang Chunsheng, who is also a veteran and is good at paper cutting, the veterans reviewed the history of the Communist Party of China, or CPC, through that art.

At the beginning, the veterans appreciated Jiang's works which were created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. "This is the Red Boat – located on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province," Jiang explained. "The first CPC National Congress reconvened and ended in success there."

Jiang spent over three months creating more than 20 exquisite paper cutting works showing the glorious 100-year history of the CPC.

Moving forward, Jiang explained and demonstrated the techniques and skills of paper cutting, as well as the requirements for creating a work.

"The deepest feeling of participating in the paper cutting activity was that we should always keep the aspiration of being a soldier in mind and follow the steps of the CPC," said Yin Gang, one of the participants.

It is reported that the Party committee of Aiguo village looks for adapt measures based on actual conditions in the process of learning Party's history.

"The paper cutting activity not only enables the veterans to feel the charm of traditional art, but also strengthens their knowledge on the Party's history and provides a new method for the Party members in the village to learn that history," said Qian Youxia, Party secretary of Aiguo village.
