Four inventions – submitted by students from Qidong Dajiang Middle School, in the county-level city of Qidong in East China's Jiangsu province – scooped up a gold award and three silver awards at the recent fourth China (Shanghai) International Exhibition of Inventions.

The event was held by the China Association of Inventions and the Shanghai Association of Inventions on April 15-17, according to local media reports.

Yuan Jingfeng, an eighth-grade student from Dajiang Middle School, invented a non-motor vehicle danger prevention system which won the gold prize at the international exhibition.

Integrating the functions of multiple sensors, the system is able to help a vehicle brake automatically and keep its stability, in order to prevent rollovers.

The other three students in the seventh grade – Huang Yiwen, Zhang Yudan and Gu Ruoxuan – won silver awards.

As a national science and technology education base for youth, the Qidong Dajiang Middle School has made more efforts on the education of scientific and technological innovation in recent years.

In addition, the school is also working with two top teams to carry out scientific and technological innovation education in Qidong, in order to stimulate the interest of students and develop their potential for innovation.
