Construction of the fourth phase of Nantong University's Qidong campus saw the latest group of projects pass joint acceptance inspections by various departments on April 9 – marking the completion of its main section.

Qidong is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province.

The latest completed construction projects include the No 2 Canteen, the No 2 Faculty Apartment, the No 9 Teaching Building and the Experimental Animal Research Center, with a total floor space of 26,100 square meters.

With the projects cleared for handover, the total area of the Qidong campus has now extended to 232,000 sq m – providing facilities able to meet the education and living needs of more than 10,000 students and faculty members.

Construction of the Qidong campus first began in 2010, when it was jointly launched and promoted by Nantong University and the local government.

The number of students at the Qidong campus has increased from the original 800 to 8,864 currently.

A coastal campus with complete support facilities, wide-ranging functions and a beautiful environment has been completed.
