An exhibition of traditional Chinese paintings by five female artists is being held at Zilang Wenyuan art gallery in Nantong and will run until April 8.

On display are more than 50 works by Ge Zhongyu, Wu Yi, Shen Yi, Lu Xiaoyun and Xiang Yuan, featuring among other things the lush mountains and clear waters of the country.

Organizers said the event is meant to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and to also promote the ancient art form among ordinary people.

At the opening ceremony, the five artists collaborated, working together to create a painting. Check out the video!
