Wujie town in Tongzhou district – administered by the city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – wants to further promote its high-quality development in the starting year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) by giving full play to its advantage as the north bridgehead of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, according to Sun Weijun, Party secretary of the town.
Efforts will be put into two major projects. The Hengli (Nantong) Textile New Material Industrial Park, with investment exceeding 60 billion yuan ($9.3 billion), had a new project engaged in functional eco-friendly fiber production start on Jan 12. Investment on the project is planned to hit 8.37 billion yuan.
Sun said that Wujie town will provide precise and considerate services for the enterprises and strive to build itself into a highland of China's new textile material industry.
The other major project is a 33-hectare urban high-end manufacturing industrial park. With gun sights as its leading industry, the park aims to introduce high-quality projects with a high scientific and technological level and rosy prospects to create a new growth point for the town's economic development.
In addition to industrial development, Wujie town will also focus on promoting the coordinated development of three major functional areas – a riverside new urban area, a traditional old town area and an eco-conservation area.
