The first golden takin calf born in Nantong is currently adapting to its new home at Nantong Forest Safari Park.
Golden takins are rare and endangered animals in China, with a population of less than 10,000 across the country.
Nantong Forest Safari Park introduced its first group of four golden takins on Jan 15, 2020 from the Qinling Mountains.
The calf was born on Dec 20, 2020 and now weighs more than 15 kilograms. It is expected to meet the public during the Spring Festival holiday.
