The 2020 Nantong Jianghai Talent Entrepreneurship Week was held in Qidong, Nantong on Nov 20, attracting more than 60 entrepreneurs, experts and scholars to explore cooperation opportunities in the microfiber material field.

Sponsored by the Qidong Talent Office and organized by the Lyusi Port Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee, the event focused on further development of microfiber material as one of the zone's leading industries. It provided a platform for enterprises to access the latest scientific and technological achievements and find potential cooperation partners.

He Xuan, deputy general manager of Huafon Microfibre (Shanghai) Co Ltd, said that the company chose to settle in Qidong not only because of the "hard" environment, but also because of the good "soft" environment. Since 2014, all kinds of talents in the enterprise have received a total of 899,600 yuan ($136,919) as living allowance, 18,000 yuan as transportation allowance, 6,000 yuan as title awards, and 18,000 yuan as subsidies for taking the job. The local government provided these benefits to help the company retain talented workers.

Shen Jie, deputy secretary of the Party working committee and head of the management committee of the Lyusi Port Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee, introduced Lyusi's investment environment and talent policies with respect to geographical conditions, development opportunities, industrial positioning and talent environment.

Three experts and scholars from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, South China University of Technology, and Tiangong University gave academic reports on hotspot issues in the industry.
