The second Jianghai cultural tourism festival was launched in Changle town in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on Nov 15.

An academic seminar on Zhang Jian (1853-1926), a key part of the festival, was also held on the same day.

Zhang Jian was a Changle-born Chinese industrialist and educator in the late 19th century and early 20th century. 

According to local authorities, “Zhang Jian spirit” is a major part of Jianghai culture which Haimen district has been promoting in Changle town as a way to boost entrepreneurship.

Forty-five activities will be held over the following one and a half months to showcase Jianghai culture as well as the latest achievements the district has made in culture and tourism.
