As science and technology develop, they are changing traditional farming methods.
Good field management is an important factor in rice yields and quality. The Rudong Xu Xiang family farm carried out pest and disease control in its rice fields through plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), greatly improving work efficiency.
As Xu Dongdong, the person in charge of the family farm, explained, the farm currently has a cultivated area of about 20 hectares and the UAV can load 20 liters of medicinal liquid at a time. Loaded with environmentally friendly pesticides, UAVs can complete crop-dusting work quickly and easily.
"In the past, it took three and a half days to four days to finish the work with six people spraying pesticides," Xu said. "Now it takes less than one day using the plant protection UAV."
The application of plant protection UAVs is transforming the conventional way of spraying pesticides, significantly enhancing efficiency and safety. It also solves difficulties in hiring workers due to the loss of labor force in rural areas.
