Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone was credited as "a place where mass innovation and entrepreneurship initiative showed good progress in 2019". 

In recent years, the zone has made efforts to build itself into a demonstration zone of innovation and entrepreneurship through supporting policies, infrastructure construction, and providing targeted services to its enterprises.

In 2019, the zone was approved to advance 10 provincial "mass innovation and entrepreneurship plans", 10 "Jianghai talent plans", and 18 other plans designed to draw talents from outside the province. 

There are about 30 institutions located in the zone that can provide the enterprises with an array of professional services ranging from technology transfer to intellectual property right protection.

In 2019, nearly 30 events aimed at promoting entrepreneurial activities were held in the zone.
