Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, has dispatched nearly 1,000 government officers to provide support for local enterprises and help them resume operations amid the epidemic.
To date, all enterprises above designated size in Hai'an, each with an annual revenue of over 20 million yuan ($2.84 million), have resumed production, and industrial electricity consumption in the county-level city is now at 89.61 percent of the normal amount.
Zhou Shilan, an official dispatched to support Shanghai Tengwei Color Steel (Nantong) Co, inspects workshops, the dining hall, and workers' dormitories, monitors workers' health conditions, and observes the company's daily operations.
"Zhou has helped improve our protective measures and contacts the relevant departments when we encounter difficulties. Thanks to Zhou's guidance and support, several of our problems have been solved," said the manager of the company.
Zhou Chunfeng, an official of the city's health committee, investigates enterprises based in the Hai'an Economic Development Zone and Binhai New Area every day, monitoring their situation and helping them tackle difficulties.
"Local government officers help us implement epidemic control measures and ensure the smooth delivery of materials, which has led to a year-on-year increase of over 10 percent in our average daily output," said the general manager of Jiangu Focus Goup.
