Project valued at over $420m in Xiaoyangkou resumes construction
Construction on "Hai Zhi Cheng" (literally "city of the sea"), a public-private-partnership project located at the Xiaoyangkou tourist resort in Rudoung county, Nantong, has recently resumed.
The project has attracted nearly 3 billion yuan ($427.66 million) in investment, and workers are currently working on improving the soil in its core landscape area, which covers an area of more than 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares).
Letters of commitment on epidemic prevention, records of travel history, and QR codes for traffic permits are all required when workers return to work. Workers will also have their temperatures taken twice a day and face masks are provided every day.
After the outbreak of novel coronavirus, project managers quickly made plans to prevent the spread of infection and prepared a supply of protective materials by working with the local government. Local workers will resume work first, and workers from other cities will return after proving their health.
"We plan to find more workers and are urging material providers in areas less affected by the epidemic to send supplies as quickly as possible," said one manager.
The extension of Jinha Road, the Jinha Island scenic spot, and the flower sea are expected to be completed before September, while other work on Jinha Road will be finished by the end of this year.
Workers and materials are still in short supply, but as production gradually resumes in the city, more resources are expected to be available by the end of March, according to He Lingjian, general manager of Haizhicheng Tourism Development Co.
