Rare plants at Zhou Ji Green Expo Garden

Zhou Ji Green Expo Garden, located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province is a botanical garden integrating plant exhibitions, popular science education, environmental protection and ecological tourism and is the first national 4A class tourist attraction in the district.

The garden covers an area of 320,000 square meters and cost 300 million yuan ($42.69 million) to build. It boasts over 8,000 species of rare plants from all over the world. The flowers are blooming throughout the year.

Several themed spots have been set up in the garden, including a tropical fruit valley, pavilions of tropical rain forests and sand plants, a terraced flower sea, and more.

The cycases introduced from Australia come in a variety of different shapes. The oldest one is currently around 500 years old.

There are also several spindle-like trees introduced from Africa. They are a great source of nourishment for those traveling in the desert, providing stores of fresh sap.

The olive tree, native to Spain, is considered a holy tree in western civilization.
