Tushan and Jinshan, two villages in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province were recently officially recognized as national forest villages.

A total of 10 villages in the city of Nantong were included on the list, which was announced by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

Villages honored with this title must have well-preserved natural landscapes, unique rural areas, well-developed forestry-related industries, and a livable environment.

The development of national forest villages is an important part of making rural areas more ecofriendly, facilitating rural revitalization, and improving the rural living environment.

Cities around the country are being taught the importance of forest villages and taking effective measures to bolster green development in local villages.
