Rudong farmers guided by modern technology
Publicity materials on modern agricultural technology and preferential policies were handed out during a recent volunteer activity in Chahe town, Rudong county, Nantong. It was hosted by Rudong's bureau of agricultural and rural affairs.
Workers from the bureau asked villagers about their farming needs and provided them with a variety of information about modern agricultural technology. They also told villagers about preferential policies related to agricultural development models and rural start-ups.

Xu Chunlin, a wheat farmer from the village, asked about plant diseases and insect pests and said he wants to increase production and earn more money through scientific farming.
Books about rural planting proved useful to villagers and should help boost rural economic development, said a villager surnamed Zhang.
Agricultural technicians inspected the wheat planted by a local grain cooperative that was established in the second half of 2019 and offered some advice.
"The fields should have access to unobstructed drainage and seeds should be sown at the proper time," said the manager of the cooperative. "These factors have a significant effect on grain production."
