The Tongzhou District People's Hospital, located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, was recently recognized as a third-level grade B hospital, according to the Jiangsu Commission of Health. It is the only hospital of its kind in the district.

The hospital, established in 1950, integrates medical treatment, education, research, and healthcare. It currently employs 1,107 doctors and nurses, 56 of which have the highest level of professional title in China.

The hospital leads Nantong in endovascular intervention, minimally invasive treatment, painless technology, and the rescue of critically ill patients.

In 2019, it received and successfully treated over 700,000 outpatients and over 55,000 inpatients and carried out more than 20,000 operations.

The rating of a hospital is based on 547 indicators related to medical technology, services, management, and more. 

The hospital was evaluated from Nov 27 to 29, 2019 by a group of experts, who were impressed by the passion, solidarity, efficiency, and carefulness of the employees in the hospital.

Chen Jian, director of the Tongzhou District People's Hospital, said that the hospital plans to continue improving to eventually become a third-level grade A hospital and provide better and more efficient services to local residents.
