Dec 26 of this year marks the 126th birthday of Mao Zedong (1893-1976), one of the founders of the Communist Party of China and the core figure of New China's first generation leadership.

Mao has had a profound impact on Chinese people throughout the past decades. To pay tribute to the late leader, many people visited a museum of Mao's portraits and statues in Luhong town, Chongchuan district, Nantong on Dec 26..

The museum has collected a full array of Mao’s portraits and statues, created in the 1960s and 1970s, from across the country. The exhibits vary from each other with distinct designs and materials. The largest one measures more than three meters high, while the smallest is less than 10 centimeters.
