Conference on Hai'an's development held in Shanghai
A conference on the high-quality development of Shanghai and Hai'an, Nantong, Jiangsu province was held in Shanghai on Dec 12.
Attendees included the consul of the Consulate General of South Korea in Shanghai and a number of representatives from chambers of commerce, enterprises, and government departments.
Yu Lizhong, mayor of Hai'an, promoted Hai'an's investment environment at the fair and said that Hai'an has become an important hub of the Shanghai metropolitan area and commuting circle, and is also an ideal place for investors due to its competitive industrial development.
Shanghai is located at the estuary of the Yangtze River, and Hai'an is considered the cradle of river and sea civilizations due to its 6,000 years of history. The two cities have developed a close relationship in employment, business, culture, tourism, and more.
Hai'an is dedicated to developing itself into a comprehensive transportation hub of East Jiangsu, an industrial center of the Yangtze River Delta Region, a provincial innovation demonstration area, and a livable place for its residents, Yu added.
He also expressed hope that Hai'an and Shanghai would achieve win-win results in industry, finance, innovation, and business startups and expand cooperation into more fields.
A total of 20 project deals involving strategic cooperation in industrial parks and development zones, automotive components, and electronic new materials were signed at the fair.
