Two patents from Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province were recently honored with Chinese Patent Award, according to National Intellectual Property Administration.

The Chinese Patent Award, launched in 1989, is the only patent award offered by the Chinese government and has received official recognition from the World Intellectual Property Organization.

One of the awarded patents is a paper-thin ferritic stainless steel with a bright surface developed by Jiangsu Yongjin Metal Technology Co. The patent has broken the foreign monopoly on the technology and helps prevent cracks and scratches on stainless steel. It is expected to boost high-precision processing of steel materials in China.

The other patent is a piece of freezing equipment developed by Square Technology Group Co, which separates products with different freezing points. This technology also breaks up the foreign monopoly and helps reduce damage on conveyer belts.

Tongzhou district is working to produce more high-quality patents in emerging industries such as new materials and energy-saving equipment manufacturing. The two newly patented technologies are expected to play an important role in the district's development.
