Rudong to build China's largest graphene production center
The largest industrial base for graphene production in China is currently under construction in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province and will begin operating next April.
The base will be constructed in two phases and cost a total of 460 million yuan ($65.95 million). Its annual output of graphene oxide is expected to reach 1,000 tons when its first phase begins operating.
Ninety percent of major construction on the base has been completed and equipment has begun being installed.
Graphene, a type of carbon nanometer material, can be applied in fields such as micro-nanometer processing, energy, biomedicine, and drug delivery. It can also be used for graphene lubricants and foam intensifiers.
