Qidong enterprise builds production center in Tibet
The foundation-laying ceremony for a fabricated house industrial production center, funded and constructed by Jiangsu Qi'an Construction Group, was held in the Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone in Tibet autonomous region on Oct 20.
The production center covers an area of 77.3 mu (5.15 hectares) and has 56,000 square meters of building area. It has received a total of 220 million yuan ($31.10 million) in investment and will begin operating in 2020. Its annual output value is expected to reach 880 million yuan.
It is the largest individual project in a series of construction projects and is the first integrated base for the research and application of fabricated houses in Tibet. It has provided more than 500 job opportunities for locals.
Song Chunjue, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Qi'an Construction Group, said that the company will make this the best fabricated house base in Tibet and will contribute to the region's continued development.
