Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, held a matchmaking conference for industry-university-research cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University on Oct 16.

The event was attended by officials from the university and the Haimen government, as well as local business representatives. 

Rotary Lift (Haimen) Co, two bio-medicine companies, and a heavy industrial manufacturer affiliated to China Merchants Industry Holding Co, discussed their needs at the conference. Experts and scholars from Shanghai also visited the companies to learn more about their situations.

Jiang Yongjun, vice-mayor of Haimen, said that the city’s science and technology bureau needs to fulfill its duty to promote cooperation between companies, universities, and research institutes.

He also encouraged local companies to enhance their innovation abilities and participate in the commercialization of sci-tech research findings.
