Tongzhou district is promoting ecofriendly development to welcome the 2019 China Forest Tour Festival in Nantong, Jiangsu province.

The district won gold at the chrysanthemum exhibition in Nantong, which was held on Oct 15 as part of the China Forest Tour Festival.

Tongzhou district has accelerated its expansion of green areas and gardens. Dozens of landscape projects have been completed in the district in the past three years. 

To date, more than 20 gardens have been built in the district, covering a total area of 3.36 million square meters.

The newly completed Nanshanhu Park is a great place for relaxing, and more activities have been introduced to the park. A flower town is also an important project in Tongzhou district, as it integrates agriculture and tourism.

Tongzhou district has also been working to increase green space along expressways. 

A landscape engineering project on a section of the G345 Expressway is currently underway, stretching 3.3 kilometers with 58,000 sq m of green area.

The total area of green belts along roadways has increased by 4,000 mu (266.67 hectares) this year alone.
