Haimen gets direct trains to Nanjing
Haimen’s locals will soon be able to board direct trains to Nanjing, capital of eastern Jiangsu province, when the full Ningqi (Nanjing-Qidong) rail line is fully opened for business on Oct 11, according to local media reports.
Rail officials said CR200J Fuxing trains will run on the railway.
The Ningqi Railway starts from Nanjing in the western part of Jiangsu and in Qidong in the eastern part of Jiangsu and runs over the Yangtze River to the central part of Jiangsu. It is an important part of the national express railway network and the inter-city rail network in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In May 2016, the first phase of the Ningqi Railway, which is the Nanjing-Nantong section, started on a double line electrification project, allowing high-speed trains to run on the Ningqi line.
In January this year the second phase of the Ningqi Railway, which is the Nantong-Qisong section, began operating.
